
AusIndustry are helping to deliver a new programme as part of Inspiring all Australians in Digital Literacy and STEM. It is an $8 million competitive programme and will run over four years from 2016–17 to 2019–20.
Grant funding per project is $5,000 to $250,000.
The Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Entrepreneurship Programme aims to:
- support women in STEM
- remove barriers that stop women taking part in STEM education and careers, including entrepreneurship.
The programme provides funding for businesses, not-for-profits and research organisations to support outreach programmes that target girls and women to:
- encourage their interest in entrepreneurship
- develop their innovation and entrepreneurial skills
- build their professional networks.
The programme also provides funding to identify and celebrate STEM role models in science and research, entrepreneurship and corporate leadership to inspire school-age girls.
The programme is part of the ‘Inspiring all Australians in Digital Literacy and STEM’ element of the National Innovation and Science Agenda.
