Imagine having multiple intense Q+A sessions with Mackay’s best Mentors – all in one place  – all in one high energy 2 hour session.  Welcome to Mentor Blaze 7, Queensland’s biggest mentoring event.

If you have an idea, or an itch of an idea for a new startup business and want to explore the concept with a range of passionate entrepreneurs and expert mentors, then register now.

You can be a student or a corporate executive, a researcher or someone looking for a career change or small business looking to scale.  This is a unique opportunity to meet 1-on-1 with startup founders, experienced entrepreneurs, expert service providers, investors and more.   It is fast and furious – each session is 20 minutes. Following the mentoring, you will be also able to network with other attendees and mentors.

Mentee places are always limited so be quick if you’re keen to come along.

  • 3:30pm Mentors and Mentees arrive and find their place.
  • 3:50pm Instructions for Mentor Blaze
  • 4:00pm Mentoring commences 4pm sharp at all locations. Each Mentor will conduct 6 x20 minute sessions.
  • 6:00pm Networking with refreshments.

One week prior to the event, all registered attendees will be invited to an interactive schedule listing mentors and their available sessions. Simply book three time-slots with different mentors you’d like to speak with.

The small fee contributes to covering costs.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

There are no age limits for this event. If you are under 16 please bring a parental guardian.


What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There are many free parking spots at the front of the administration building and building 5 (refectory) at CQUniversity Ooralea Campus.


What can/can’t I bring to the event?

You can bring notes, laptops, ipads etc – anything you need to help you convey your iacrossross to the Mentors.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

If you are unable to make Mentor Blaze, please let us know before the event for cancellations so we can free up the ticket to other participants.


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No you do not, we have a record of all attendees via Eventbrite.


What is the refund policy?

If you are unable to make Mentor Blaze, please let us know before the event for cancellations and we will be able to refund your ticket. Refunds allowed up to 24 hours prior to event.

Dennis is an Electrical and Control Systems Engineer and was appointed President of Startup Mackay Inc. in June 2016. He is a member of Engineers Australia, AISA, MITN, DMLA within the Education, Training, Research and Innovation Pillar, and the Reference Group for the Digital Economy Strategy.
