Senior Lecturer in Management and Organisational Behaviour in the School of Business and Law at CQUniversity
Dr Paul Waight is a Senior Lecturer in Management and Organisational Behaviour in the School of Business and Law at CQUniversity. He teaches into a range of business management and human resource management subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Paul gained his PhD in Entrepreneurship and Small Business at Griffith University in 2006 for his doctoral thesis titled “Attachment, Anxiety and the Entrepreneurial Mind”.
Paul also holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Management, Marketing and Human Resource Management, and was awarded First Class Honours and the Griffith University Medal in 2000. During his PhD studies, Paul also attained a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education.
Paul’s university teaching experience over the past 15 years includes the subject areas of Industrial Relations, Operations Management, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Innovation and Change, Leadership and Governance, Market Research, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management.
Prior to entering academia, Paul gained extensive management, supervisory and consultancy experience in a number of industries including transport, retail, production engineering, and accounting. He has also owned and operated several small businesses in his own right.
Paul is co-author of ‘Planning a Nature-based Tourism Business on Your Property’; a two part guide for developing and evaluating new nature-based tourism proposals published by the Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Tourism.
