I.T. Basics for Business showcase and Q&A with local Mackay Businesses

Mackay IT Network (MITN) is presenting a FREE event for local SMEs entitled “IT Basics for Business” at the MECC on 22nd August.  It consists of short presentations on practical IT topics, and a showcase of local IT businesses.

You can attend any or all of these presentations:

5:10pm     Andrew Phillips, NQBE:  Communications Basics – I’ve got the NBN, now what?

5:30pm     Snr Constable Steve Smith, Mackay Police:  Security Basics – Keeping your business secure on line

5:50pm     Megan Taylor, Kapow Interactive:  Digital Marketing Basics – The ABC of Facebook

6:30pm     Steven Tye, Tyeware:  Business Software Basics – Software Solutions for your business

6:50pm     Guy Daniel, Onsite PC Techs:  Cloud Basics – Selecting a Cloud Provider for your business


The showcase will be open throughout the evening, with representatives from IT businesses and organisations ready and willing to discuss your IT issues and answer your questions.  Snacks will be provided and drinks can be purchased at the bar, so come along, get some valuable advice and tips, and meet local IT businesses in an informal atmosphere, without the “sell”.

Dennis is an Electrical and Control Systems Engineer and was appointed President of Startup Mackay Inc. in June 2016. He is a member of Engineers Australia, AISA, MITN, DMLA within the Education, Training, Research and Innovation Pillar, and the Reference Group for the Digital Economy Strategy.
